The take-over deal between Groupe Bernard Tapie and Full Tilt Poker was almost finalized December last year. There was a high possibility that the embattled poker room will be back in action soon. However, poker professional Chris Ferguson is most likely holding back the deal from being finalized. He is doing so to get the money that he had put towards the site following the Black Friday incident.

According to reports, Christ Ferguson who had been a world champion of online poker before, received a little above $60 million since 2007 from the poker site. He had put the sum in various bank accounts. $45 million was withdrawn and used. The rest of the money was given to the embattled poker room.

Ferguson Provided Full Tilt with Remaining $14.3 after Black Friday

Reports suggest that Ferguson provided the remaining sum of $14.3 million to Full Tilt Poker to handle its expenses after the Black Friday incident. Ferguson thought that the gesture will enhance his good will. He hoped that he will be at the forefront of the poker room again, once it is back on its feet. However, things did not take shape as planned by Ferguson.

After negotiations, the US Department of Justice finally approved the takeover deal. However, according to the agreement, none of the previous owners of the poker room will be allowed even partial ownership in the company.

Ferguson requested for Full Tilt Books Accounting

Ferguson along with his lawyer, Ian Imrich requested for Full Tilt’s accounts. It has not yet been provided to them. Ferguson threatened that he will file a lawsuit against Full Tilt Poker. Such actions will delay Groupe Bernard Tapie’s takeover of the ownership of the poker room. Payments yet to be made to a large number of players across the world will also be delayed.

Poker Community turned against Ferguson and Ian Imrich

After Ferguson threatened to file a lawsuit, the entire online poker community turned against him and his lawyer. A post on Two Plus Two forum states that Ferguson’s action is a reflection of his greed. A few believe that now, when things are turning in a positive direction, he is standing in the way for his selfish interest. Another post stated that he should be ashamed of himself.
