Caesars entertainment and 888 to extend licensing agreement to us

Play Poker ยป About Us

Recently, Caesars Interactive Entertainment and 888 Holdings announced that they were set to extend their licensing agreement to the US market. Initially, the agreement was made only for the UK. According to 888, if online poker is legalized in the US, the company’s B2B division Dragonfish, will provide software to a number of poker sites associated with Caesars Entertainment.

Real Money Site a Possibility with 888’s Sophisticated, Advanced Platform

888 has a sophisticated, advanced poker platform which will be used to introduce a real money site based on the agreement. This is contingent on state or federal regulation being finalized and a license being provided by gaming authorities. In December 2011, five companies applied for licenses to run their sites for players in Nevada. One of them was 888. At the time of filing, the company called itself 888 US Limited. It sought to function as manufacturer, service provider and distributor in Nevada.

WSOP Brand Extends Reach in UK through Caesar-888 Deal

Last year, in March, Caesar’s Entertainment and 888 entered a deal to bring together the brand power of the former and the gaming platform of the latter. This was done with the objective of expanding the reach of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) to the UK. According to the CEO of Caesar’s Entertainment, 888 was the right choice for the new joint venture as the company has the software and hardware that will save Caesars the trouble of developing its programs. He also added that in the UK 888 has managed to successfully steer the WSOP brand. Now, in a situation where it is possible that there will be a state or federal regulatory environment, 888 Poker has the potential to support any outcome.

IGT Applies for License

Caesar’s Entertainment and 888 are not the only companies eager to make the most of a possible situation where online poker is legalized and regulated. International Gaming Technology (IGT) too has applied for a license to operate in Nevada. The poker network company also intends to add more skins in the coming months. To draw the attention of real money poker rooms, the network provider will go to the online gaming expo in London, ICE. At the expo, IGT will showcase the complete range of services and products in its portfolio. Recently, it added a few new offerings following the acquiring of Entraction, a poker network. Entraction has now been rebranded under the name IGT Poker Network.
