Play Poker » Yatahay Poker Network Rebrands as Winning Poker Network

January 20, 2012

Yatahay Poker Network is one of the few networks to accept US players. Recently, it rebranded itself as the Winning Poker Network. With rebranding, the poker room did a full make-over of its site. The new site consists of skins like 5Dimes and True Poker.

America’s Cardroom, another poker room, is also a part of the network. It was launched in the US recently after the purchase of DoylesRoom. The acquisition deal of DoylesRoom went through successfully in October, 2011. Before moving to the Yatahay Network, DoylesRoom was a part of the Cake Poker Network.

Yatahay Network Seized by DOJ in 2011

The Yatahay Network was seized by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) in 2011, May. The seizures took place during the Blue Monday incident. DoylesRoom and True Poker websites that used dot.com are still not allowed to operate. The sites that operate are the ones using dot.eu and dot.ag domains. These originate in Europe, and Antigua and Barbuda respectively.

The legendary poker professional Doyle Brunson endorsed DoylesRoom. The Black Friday and Blue Monday incidents in the US were followed by Brunson’s exit from the online poker world. True Poker and DoylesRoom are the only two poker sites to have been indicted on the Blue Monday. 8 online gambling rooms indicted along with these sites during the Blue Monday incident were those offering other gambling products like sports betting, horse racing and online casino games.

Blue Monday Followed Black Friday

The Blue Monday incident followed the Black Friday of the poker world. Three of the top poker rooms were indicted on that day. Among these sites, PokerStars has been able to get back on its feet. The site continues to be the leading online poker platform, despite the fact that it is no longer accepting US players.

Action Poker Network to Rebrand as the Chico Poker Network

The rebranding of Yatahay was followed by an announcement from the Action Poker Network that it will rebrand as the Chico Poker Network. Another poker site that has undergone rebranding is Bodog Poker, which became Bovada Poker. The site is operating solely for US players.

In addition to Chico and Winning Poker Network, quite a few other online poker networks also accept US players. Some of these are Everleaf Gaming Network, CakePoker Network and Merge Gaming Network.
